It's important to choose a strong password to protect this file. The program will prompt you for a “ master key” to protect the file. The first time we open the program we will have to press on “ New” button to create a new database with a password, choose the location and enter file name that will store all of our passwords.
In addition we will be able to enter our credentials in any web page in a simple way, because we only need to choose the entry we want to use, and press Control+T (or right-click - >” Perform Auto-type”). In this way we will avoid that anyone can discover our passwords, or lose by accident the notepad where we had all of our access key. Thanks to this software we will be able to save, without any worry, our access credentials (user name and password), of all the web sites that we visit regularly. In addition, when we make use of the program, all the passwords shown by the program, will be encrypted in memory, in such a way that all the passwords will be protected from possible attacks. Password Safe will create an encrypted file (database) on the hard drive to protect all the passwords that we decide to save on it. We must have a tool that is able to store all of our pass keys, both Online and Offline, and do so in a safe and effective way. N otepads and post-it does not count as a safe method of password storage. All of these passwords must be stored safely somewhere.
